They saw the laws of nature as the work of an intelligent creator. They saw human progress as a sign of god s goodness. The american revolution was the time period where america tried to gain its independence from england.

It was a movement that focused mostly on freedom of speech equality freedom of press and religious tolerance. It was centered around the idea that reason is the primary source of authority and legitimacy and it advocated such ideals as liberty progress tolerance fraternity constitutional government and separation of church and state.
