Yellow and blue make green. Therefore in order to get a blue coloration from pigments you would need to absorb the red and green light colors which can be achieved by mixing magenta and cyan. And everyone already knows that blue and yellow make green but surprise so does mixing cyan and yellow. Make sure that you have enough paint to work with.
The three primary colors are blue red and yellow. Orange ultramarine blue cobalt blue in the first line you can see cadmium orange mixed with ultramarine blue. If you go heavier on the blue than the yellow it will be more of a blue green than a straight. In other words mixing orange into the blue made the blue less blue.
Blue and red make purple. Blue is a primary color and is not a mixed color. You will want more blue paint as your base color than your purple mixing color. Mixing the orange into the blue takes away the brightness of the blue by making it into a dull color.

These primary colors make three secondary colors which are orange green and purple. Blue is a primary color which means you cannot create it by mixing other colors. Most colors come from mixing a primary color with a secondary color. Cyan absorbs red yellow absorbs blue and magenta absorbs green.
Purple or violet is an analogous color to blue found next to it on the color wheel.
