What Is The Main Difference Between Vascular And Nonvascular Plants
Olivia Luz

Vascular plants are divided into two groups.
Non seed plants or lower vascular plants or cryptograms and seed plants or higher vascular plants or phanerogams. The vascular system of a plant contains xylem and phloem. Vascular plants are green plants with true leaves stems and roots. The core difference between vascular and non vascular plants is that vascular plants have xylem and phloem tissues for the transport of water and nutrients whereas non vascular plants do not have a specialized transport system.
Vascular plants make a group of plants that not only possess true root and shoot system but also a well developed vascular system for water minerals and food translocation. Kingdom plantae is one of the five kingdoms in the classification system. There are many differences between vascular plants and non vascular plants. Key differences between vascular and nonvascular plants.
Vascular plants have a proper root system which supports the plants to anchor the soil and gets nutrients from its whereas in non vascular plants instead of roots they have rhizoids small hairs to support the plant firmly. Plants have a vascular system containing the xylem and phloem for water minerals and food transport to all parts of the plant. The key difference between vascular and nonvascular plants is that the vascular plants have a vascular tissue to transport water minerals and nutrients while the nonvascular plants do not have vascular tissue. The main difference between vascular and non vascular plants is that vascular plants contain a specialized xylem and phloem tissues for the transportation of water and foods while non vascular plants do not contain specialized vascular tissues for transport.

One main difference is that vascular plants have tube shaped structures that are used to carry water and other substances. On the other hand non vascular plants are simple and short that neither comprises a mechanics for water and food conduction nor contain a true root and shoot system. The lower vascular plants include plants like ferns that although are adapted to survive on land still have some characteristics of their aquatic ancestry. It includes all green plants that are photosynthetic eukaryotes.Source : pinterest.com
