Camila Farah

A castle is a large fortified residence or group of buildings with strong walls to defend against attacks.
I hereby present to you the differences between a castle and a palace because if we can t live like royals ourselves we may as well know the terminology. What are the characteristics of a castle. Both the word castle and the word palace came into english the same way through latin and french. And palatium which is what the romans called the hill of fancy houses became palais in french and palace in english.
Based on this purpose of building a castle and a palace there are some other differences between the two architectural creations. A castle is built for protection or for defense purposes while a palace is built to showcase wealth and power. So when we re wondering what s the difference between a castle and a palace the most important difference is that a palace is not fortified. Castle is built to prove supremacy whereas a palace is built to prove royalty.
