How Do I Know What Undertones I Have

If the base tone of your skin is yellow or gold you have warm undertones.

Check the inside of your arm. What color do your veins predominately appear. Greener toned veins usually indicate you are warm and blue or purple tinted veins usually mean cool tones. If your skin burns quickly or tans to rosy deep cinnamon or reddish shades as opposed to golden or peach then you likely have a cool undertone.

Look at the inside of your wrist. If you don t see a change you have neutral skin undertones. People with blue or purplish looking veins usually have cooler undertones. Look at the color of the veins on the inside of your wrist.

If your face looks more yellow your skin undertone is warm. Try the following eight tricks to determine which undertone you have. You never want your foundation to be too pink or too yellow or too ashen. If your undertone is warm then the foundation shade should have a subtle yellow or golden tone and we mean very very subtle.

Hold up your arm in the natural light and determine the predominant color. This is a quick way to determine your undertones if your veins are visible. For example if your veins look greenish then you may have warm undertones. If the veins appear bluish or purple you have a cool undertone.

If you have cool undertones the foundation should look slightly and we mean slightly pinkish in the bottle. If you can t tell if your veins are green or blue you may have a neutral skin tone.

If your undertones are neutral you re not too ruddy or too sallow. If your skin looks a bit rosy next to it you re cool toned. If you see hints of blue pink or red then you have cool undertones.
