They must use energy.
Asexual reproduction does not include a partner while sexual reproduction does. Living organisms can reproduce either asexually or sexually. Most scientists use seven life processes or characteristics to determine whether something is living or non living. Using these characteristics it is easy to determine if something is living dead or non living.
All living things organize cells at different levels the cell is the smallest unit of structure and function that can carry out all the characteristics of life. All living things share the same seven characteristics and those are movement respiration sensitivity growth reproduction excretion and nutrition. A unique ability to reproduce ability to grow ability to metabolize ability to respond to stimuli ability to adapt to the environment ability to move and last but not the least an ability to respire. All living organisms from small to big share characteristics that separate them from the divisions in nature that do not exhibit life like rocks or soil.
Living beings can be broadly classified into plants and animals. They must react to stimuli like light heat or touch. All living things are composed of cells. All living things reproduce.

Living things must reproduce. Autotrophs such as phytoplankton and iron bacteria make their own food. They both have common characteristics and follow a universal circle of life that includes birth reproduction and death. Living things must maintain balance in all of their processes.
All living things also known as biotic factors in an ecosystem require energy to survive.
