Voles are furry animals that usually have grayish brown coats.
They look slightly more like a mouse. Moles m are meat eaters and their diet consists of insects grubs and earthworms. Like the mole voles are 5 to 7 inches long. Moles are solitary predators that aggressively defend their territory.
A mole tunnels underground lifting the soil upwards and making your yard squishy when you walk on it. Moles feed on a carnivorous diet that consists of fossorial invertebrates whereas voles are vegetarians with preference to fruits nuts and succulent roots. Voles tunnel under the snow pack in winter but remain above ground and create those highways in the grass you see when it melts. Voles are herbivores that enjoy grasses seeds and roots.
